Personality: Often quiet, she prefers the company of Pokemon to people, but she opens up to others after some time. Diligent and a hard worker, she did her best while at the ranger school in Almia, and continues to give her all when out in the field. Determined, she doesn't like giving up without a fight, but this determination can run through to stubbornness and she can sometimes get in trouble because of her reluctance to throw in the towel. She's generally even-tempered - except on rainy mornings - and while she doesn't get made easily, she gets violent when she finally snaps.

Team

(M)Fennekin - Hikitsu
Kae received this young fox when she started her journey as a Trainer. The rash little Pokemon was a match for her stubbornness, leading to Kae joking that she realized how much of a pain she must have been only when she started working with him. Hikitsu later becomes her 1st partner when she becomes a Ranger.

(F) Vulpix - Kana
While on a mission in northern Almia, Kae lost her parka and was looking for a way to stay warm without it. A young Vulpix later approached to return the parka - which she'd found - to the Ranger. She later joins Kae on her journey back to the Ranger Union to report the successful mission, and becomes her 2nd partner.

(M)Absol - Ken
Kae met this Pokemon while exploring Rasp Cavern as part of a mission. The Absol knocked her over suddenly, to get her out of the way of several boulders during an unexpected cave-in. Kae brought him back to Rand's house to treat the resulting injury (a broken hind leg) and help the Pokemon recover. He becomes her 3rd partner.
History/Back Story

Born in Shalour City, Kae had thought of becoming a Trainer once she was old enough. While she loved her seaside hometown, she still wanted to travel and believed that starting a journey as a trainer was a good way to do so. Soon after she set off, though, she discovered she liked training her partners but didn't much like sending them into battle - in spite of her aggressive battle style. She later ran into a ranger and was inspired by how well he worked together with his Pokemon to keep her and her team from a would-be-fatal fall from a cliff.

After learning more about a ranger's duties, Kae returned home to tell her parents that she'd changed her mind, leaving for the Almia region and its ranger school afterwards. Her first several missions were carried out there, and she was later reassigned to the Oblivia region.

I posted a sketch on my art tumblr a while back, this time of a 3rd Pokemon OC, probably the closest I could get to a version of me in the Pokemon world, since I don't see myself as someone who'd battle with Pokemon, but I'd like to work with them. Similar to how I like looking after animals and working with them if I can (I still want to go into conservation). I changed her outfit since then, to show her in the Oblivia region - even if the colors aren't exactly for that region _{I think I made Hikitsu too thin...?}

Why Shalour City? It's in between a mountainous place and near the sea, which reminds me of my own hometown.

Again, I worked on this in between commissions (so it's been a work-in-progress for... a month or so?). Also, my OCs so far each represent a part of me in the Pokemon-verse. Ru is my trainer-self, Kaname my breeder-self, and now Kae the Ranger and Roxy the Performer/Coordinator. Complicated, maybe, but it's fun that way
