Appearance: Hoshiko has fair skin, scarlet eyes, and dark green hair that she ties back in a ponytail, held with a red ribbon. She's usually in a red top with black lining, paired with denim shorts as well as a white-and-purple short-sleeved hooded jacket. She wears high socks and sneakers that are dark pink and black, along with purple wristbands. A dark red choker with heart-shaped pendant completes her look. She brings two dark pink belt bags - one for her tools, spare parts and her Beyblade; another for her launcher as well as a tablet to record Beyblade info and Beybattles.

Personality: Energetic and outgoing but still somehow detached, Hoshiko loves to observe others as much as she loves interacting with them. She makes her likes – and dislikes – plain in both words and actions, depending on which one is appropriate at the time, and she’s straightforward with her emotions. She worries about her best friends because of their hobbies outside of Beyblading, and hates seeing people get hurt, even if they don't show they're in pain. She's not easily distracted, although there are times she gets too invested in her work, whether it's homework or compiling Beyblade data.

Backstory: The only child of two WBBA employees, Hoshiko often accompanied her parents to work when she was younger. Most of her time at the various facilities were spent either watching them and their colleagues design and put together Beyblades, or else testing the set-ups herself, once she was old enough. Soon, Hoshiko started developing mechanic skills of her own. She has her own Bey that she helped her parents design for her, but rarely participates in battles, preferring to stay on the sidelines and help her friends – especially Satoru and Mitsuo – with her knowledge.

She attends the same school as Valt and the others, and can often be found observing Beybattles and gathering data.

Beyblade Info

Beyblade: Harbinger Haliya B.R. [Bolster Revive] 

Beyblade Appearance: Haliya is a carmine-colored Beyblade, and its strength lies in its ability to dodge attacks. The Layer is marginally thicker than most, to enable it to take hits in the stadium if it isn't able to dodge in time. The Bolster Disk, meanwhile, has a slight downward slope to boost the Beyblade's maneuverability without sacrificing defense, and features two small protrusions on either side to deflect attacks. The Revive Driver is also colored carmine, with a pale gray metal ball axis that helps it rebound in the dish without losing too much stamina. While it can make the Bey stay in the middle of the stadium when successfully launched into that area, the metal ball axis ensures it can get out of harm's way or else make attacks slightly less effective. The lower friction that boosts its endurance also means Haliya has less knock-out resistance, though, and doesn't fare that well against one-hit KOs. 

Beyblade Type: Defense

Beyblade Soul Appearance: Haliya is based on the masked goddess of the moon in Bikolano (a tribe in the Philippines) myth, and manifests as a woman with bat wings, tanned skin bearing tattoos on the upper arms and thighs, and white hair, clad in red wrap-around dress and silver chest plate. Her face is hidden by a mask, and silver armbands and anklets cover her wrists and ankles. She carries a wavy-edged sword called a kris in one hand, and her aura is a pale scarlet color.

Other Info

Likes: Organizing the data she's gathered on different Beyblades and their parts is a calming activity for Hoshiko, and though she does wind up sleeping in on weekends, a trip to WBBA facilities or to the Bey-Mall to watch tournament matches will get her out of bed. She loves desserts that include fruit, but she won't say no to some dango or konpeito. Other favorite foods include gyudon and breaded cutlets. She likes to collect both fashion and Beyblade magazines.

Dislikes: She doesn't like rainy mornings; they put her to sleep as much as history class does. She doesn't like natto, as well as anything with squid (octopus, though, is fine). White chocolate is the last thing she’ll touch for dessert, and she doesn’t like seeing anyone get hurt.

Trivia:  
- She's afraid of spiders and other creepy crawlies (but spiders most of all). 
- She helps her mom with grocery shopping and is good at estimating the total cost of what's in their basket or cart 
- She wants to wear skirts, but feels she isn't "cute enough" for them.
- She has a crush on Shu, but she explains it away as just interest in his Beyblading prowess. Rantaro, Wakiya, and Tokio (OC) have also caught her eye.

UPDATE: Nitta Emi and Omigawa Chiaki were both my top picks for Hoshiko, and at first I went with the latter because her role as Maka Albarn fit what I envisioned for Hoshiko. But after finding more of Nitta-san's roles, particularly Tokoha Anjou from Cardfight Vanguard, I realized I could picture Hoshi more clearly with her voice than I did with Omigawa-san's. Hence the VA change

It took a while to figure out the text effects, and then afterward, Photoshop crashed on my THRICE But I pushed on, and now I can post my BeyBurst babies' character cards/profiles/whatever these are!

I tried to mimic the official character profiles on the Beyblade Burst site (technically, the BeyBurst section on TV Tokyo's site, if I remember correctly?), complete with the background. I was going to add another blue border outside the white, but then I realized that was no border, but the background of the page itself  Silly me... 

Again, Hoshiko's character design is based on an adoptable I got from YuzuErinaVictoria. 

 Alternate Beyblade: Harbinger Haltia. It's based on a Finnish fairy who is said to help protect or guard something. Alternate Beyblade (and Beyblade Soul) will only be used once it's clear that the theme for this generation of Beyblades will be limited to myths and legends from certain regions.
